I wake up at 6am and walk until 6:45. This morning was cold, yesterday was raining. Life is like that.
I get home at 6:45 and make breakfast. Oatmeal for Bob, Dylan, and myself; yogurt for Jordie and Jesse. I make lunches and do dishes. I shower, I dress, I do my hair. I feed the cat. I tally "points" for how the children behaved (or not) before I leave. I pack up my own lunch, my laptop, and my purse and head to work. Usually around 8:10.
I arrive at work. I sometimes grab a coffee, sometimes make a tea. I plug my laptop in and get out whatever books I am teaching from. These mornings I teach computers: key applications, living online, and fundamentals. In between teaching, while my student is working independently, I lesson plan for the afternoon. I do scads and scads of math. For three hours.
I then go downstairs and forage for food. I eat the food.
I teach all afternoon. Two advanced math students and an inventory management student. I bounce between two classrooms, teaching in each. I try to wear my math hat in the math room and my inventory hat in the inventory room, but sometimes I give up and just royally get confused. My students leave at 3pm.
I'm on the clock until 4, so sometimes I stay a while. I mark work, check attendance, lesson plan for the morning. I surf the net for a few minutes.
I leave and arrive home around 4pm. I get the kids started on homework, check agendas, and begin dinner. Once in a blue moon I have a tea with my husband. Dinner happens, we do a devotion, and then start dishes. I share a tea with my husband. We begin the after dinner stuff. More homework, if necessary; bagpipes, meetings, etc etc.
I fall into bed at night and sleep well.
While I was bored at work just a few weeks ago, surfing the net all day long, I wanted a busier work day. The grass, indeed, does appear greener. I want my slacker lifestyle back!
On a positive note, cLaudia told me I look like I've lost weight. I love cLaudia. :)
